That was one of the F56 marketing prototypes! They decided not to use that front end though, because if you notice in the pic, NOBODY is paying any attention to how ugly it is... So they decided to go with a double catfish mouth instead!

Well, I'm not loving it but I am impressed with quality of the workmanship to make it happen.

You guys are going to want that front-end mod when you find out how big an intercooler fits behind that grill!

Not sure about the whole FMIC but, in all seriousness.....
I'd like to know if this is a one of or a production piece from some where.
Yeah I know, weird and NOT what a MINI is sup to look like.
I have a '14 JCW Clubman
And I'm thinking limo look kinda.
And yes, I've seen the real MINI Limo's from the UK!

Remember, MINI=unique.... Not Normal

Another thought: Maybe this is the latest look in pedestrian safety. At the instant the MINI hits a pedestrian, the grill - which is hinged at the top and is spring-loaded - pops open and flicks the pedestrian to an airbag on top of the car!

Rolls Royce classic Mini front ends were oringinally one of Brian Luff's creations in the 1970's.......until Rolls Royce objected to the use of their grille, etc.
(Brian Luff was chief engineer at Lotus in the 1960's and produced the Status Minipower kit car)

Many years later BMW now owners of both Rolls Royce and MINI combined the two marques again but officially!
