Installing A Panel Graphics
Installing A Panel Graphics
Greetings All,
I just received my order of A Panel graphics from Mini-Graphics in the UK. They will be installed on my 2012 Countryman. I understand the basics of graphics installation, and I do know about using the wet install method, with a couple of drops of dish washing detergent in a spray bottle of water. The thing is, I have never attempted a graphics install, and I'm a bit nervous.
Have any of you ever attempted this? Is it something I can do by myself or should I look into contacting a graphics shop to do the install for me? I figure the A Panels can't be that bad, but I really don't know. Thanks in advance for the advice!

It's really not that bad, though it's easier in warm weather because the vinyl is more pliable. Do you have a heated garage you can work in?
It also depends on how big they cut the vinyl. Some places cut it just a bit smaller than the visible A panel so you don't have to remove any trim. When I did my wife's Clubman, it was cut larger than the panel so I had to remove the arch trim to get under it. That was kind of a pain since I'd never done it before. Turned out really good though.

Thanks, chrunck. Yours looks great! I live in South Florida, and it's been in the mid-80s here, so a warm install environment is not an issue at all!
I got home late last night and found the tube with the graphics inside, so I quickly held one up to the A panel. it looks to be slightly smaller than the panel itself. There will be a roughly 1-2 mm edge around the graphic if that's the case. It was late and dark last night, so I couldn't tell exactly. Looks like there won't be any trimming necessary or removal of trim pieces from the car.
