My mini appears to have an eletrical issue all of the sudden. My right brake light wont light up when i press the brake pedal down. However i know the bulb isnt shot because when i have the lights on at night both tailights are visible but again when i press the brake the left one lights up brite and the right doesnt??!!! Any ideas im trying to avoid having to pay 300 dollars for a simple fix from the mecanic if i can fix it myself for less Thanks guys !!!

 

try replacing the bulb. it has a double element and one of the elements is burnt out.

 

Aren't there 2 filaments on one bulb? One for each tail/brake?

Alright ill give that a shot i didnt know that could be the issue can i get it from autozone or is it a special order bulb i have a 2005 r53

 

Any auto parts will have it. I think it is a 1157 bulb but to be sure, just tell them what kind of car you have.

 

Alright problem fixed thanks guys if i would have known it had two seperate elements in the bulb i wouldnt have thought it was somthing else thanks again 6 dollar 5 min fix
