I make occasional trips to the dragon. Anyone else live close want to get a bunch of owners together and go?

 

Would love to go! Try to run down as often as I can. But...........when you say close, how close do you mean? I am only 9-1/2 hours away. I do also stop in every time I visit my Spartanburg, SC customer. Some people say I might be a little dragon crazy, but they haven't seen this wonderful road.

So, how close do you live to the dragon?

 

I was down there with a friend on a roadtrip from Ottawa, Canada in September. I loved it. We did the Dragon four times. My buddy puked the last run while I was driving. Unfortunately it was in his 2004 Impala SS and not my MINI, maybe someday.

I would have loved to rip it up in the mountains there for 2-3 days but we only spent the day there.

 

Not really sure how many runs is have done in my lifetime, maybe between 200 and 250. Driving just a 2005 Justa Cooper, just like to have fun and drive it hard. MOTD is coming up this May, check it out.

 

i live in Knoxville so I'm like 40min- to an hour away. and yes ill definitely be at minis on the dragon. ill probably be working there a little bit. But not long so. any time your down this way id be glad to go

 

I know that some of the Atlanta crowd did a Turkey Trot run last year during the week - haven't heard of anything planned this year though.

Dragon is always a good time - just make sure to be careful of the leaves and potential ice this time of year!

I was just up there a week ago and it was beautiful (12-13hrs away). The weather was great and once the sun was out for a few hours it began to make the road less damp, but no full bore runs while wet. In the morning it was cold (40s) and my summer tires were pretty hard.
