Something's Rolling Around in My Headliner...

Well, the title says it all! I noticed it recently...I got my mini back from a flywheel replacement a few weeks ago, but they shouldn't have gone anywhere near the headliner.

When I go around turns fast (which is all the time! haha) I hear the object rolling back and forth towards the back. I also had my antenna base replaced a few months ago after the car wash ate it. But the sound popped up recently.

Sounds like a small object-- not a lot of weight. Maybe plastic.

Anyone know of a possible culprit? Maybe it's a common problem among others? I've only had my mini since May.

If they replaced the base of the attenna they would need to access from the inside of the headliner. I would guess it is one of the fasterners or pop rivets came out or broke holding the headliner on. I attached a photos with and without sun roof.

If it really bothers you, just drop the back of the headliner and remove whatever is rolling around. It's not that difficult; however, you will need to remove the C pillar covers first or you'll may put a permanent crease in the back of your headliner if you just try to pull it down from the back.

+1 on taking headliner down in the back. I bet one of the clips under the headliner from the removal. I hope its not the nut to hold on the base like most models. I don't know which model you have , but if you tell me I could help.

Thanks and good luck.

Thank you all for your feedback. Yeah, it definitely sounds like it's just a plastic headliner clip. Doesn't sound too heavy like the antenna nut would.

I'm in an 07 MCS R56.
