Dude! Slow down!

To the guy in the pepper white/black roof MCS on I-280 this morning: slow down! Save it for the track. Sure it was impressive how you were weaving through traffic, but going 100 through traffic moving at 75 is going to get somebody killed.

Ok I'm assuming it was a guy driving, the only woman I ever knew who drove like that was my mother (seriously) but she's dead. (Natural causes.)

Go to the track to satisfy your need for speed.

Where is I-280? This might get some hits in a regional section.

Maybe he was late for a very important date? Or maybe he was just driving irresponsibly. We don't really know his circumstances.

Your mother seemed to have survived long enough driving like that...

Sounds like the local 280, here in the SF Bay Area. Runs from SF to San Jose, through some nice scenery. People tend to drive fast on it, and it doesn't turn into a parking lot nearly as badly as US-101 (which also goes from SF to SJ) does.

its too easy to drive way too fast in my Mini (JCW) which is why it sits in the garage most of the time.

How that brings back memories. I spent my childhood growing up in Los Altos, and my parents had a house overlooking the construction of HWY 280. Granted that was 40+ years ago. I do remember cruising along it in a convertible Alfa Spider, and watching the fog roll over the mountains. I do miss my Alfa though. I still would not give up living in Australia, and the roads we have here, but happy memories just the same.

My Avatar is a photo of the Gillies HWY up to the Atherton Tablelands. 45k of pure MINI heaven. Much like Skyline Blvd. is that runs parallel to HWY 280. Only difference is instead of Redwoods, it is tropical rainforest. And we drive on the proper side of the road!

Cheers,

Ken

yep, I-280 in the SF bay area near the Edgewood Road exit. I like to drive fast, I have to use cruise control to keep it under 80 on the highway. But this was just irresponsible weaving across and through all 4 lanes of traffic like that.
