Wife is ready to lease or buy. should she get the cooper or the S model

If I set my my GPS to avoid highways I can generally get where I'm going without driving on an interstate. Why? Because it's just more fun that way. And also because I get way better gas mileage at 60 mph going up and down hills and around curves than I do going 70 mph in straight line. On the interstate I'm just another cog in the machine, but I OWN the back roads.

I on the other hand think its just right. The Cooper-Ss of this world are overpowered, but both are great fun in their own ways.
I'll agree with that. It takes a certain amount of skill and forethough to drive a Cooper around obstacles on the road.
The extra is worth it, but its not necessary. We have both, so I get to choose which I want to drive, I have lots of fun in the Cooper, its different from the fun in the Cooper-S (or JCW).
I realize both cars handle the same, and both cars can be fun to drive, but merging, passing etc. with a Cooper is much more challenging than a Cooper S.
So in my opinion, The Cooper S is worth the extra money.
