THAT is one ugly interior!! It looks like classic BORING BMW grade. Cold, hard and no personality. Definitely not MINI like, which exudes a fun, original, classic retro look that pays homage to the original Mini.
I feel a disturbance in the force......like a sales slump.

+2 here as well. The interior is the part that the driver sees the most, and there's just nothing compelling or special about the 2014's. I'm glad I got a 2013!

Thanks Braminator, yep, hard to know what the final production will look like....and in your pix I definitely see a speedo where the tach currently is...bad...very bad....

ok, anyone have spy shots of the NEXT generation after the F56, so I will know how long I am going to have to keep my 2013 running?

It's not just that the 2014 interior isn't "MINI enough"... Even if it weren't going into a MINI, it's a disjointed, ugly thing. Mismatched A/C vents, the weird "floating" dash shape...

Idk why they have to go and reshape everything and make it some werid clown car. Granted these are not the final product but they definately are going backwards on the design here with te minis. If i wanted to look at an abomination id look at the nissan cube or a toyota prius. Sorry if i offended any owners :P

I find it interesting that the center stack AC vents went square-ish in the first pic but the side vent (to the left of the steering wheel) is a familiar MINI round shape.

Perhaps that first pic is very camouflaged... like they lifted it from another product and tacked it on for testing.

One can hope, but based on what I've read at MotoringFile that's just the way it is - square-ish in the middle, round on the outside vents. They didn't even take the opportunity to make the square-ish middle ones "wing shaped" to make the center section shaped like a MINI logo.

It's like they had a bunch of different teams design different parts of the interior independently of each other, then slapped it all in and called it a day.

yes, it's a shame that they may be moving away from the ventilation stack resembling the Mini emblem...that's a very cool design feature in the current models...

but, again as someone said, this may all be mis-direction at this point....any publicity is better than no publicity, isn't that what they say?

Thanks but No Thanks

Not that my opinion matters, I just bought two Mini's last week. A Countryman and the S Coupe.

I could have chose 2014 but hearing and seeing the changes I chose 2013 and glad I did. Not that these will change in 2014 but just in case.....

I don't like the controls in front of the knee in the picture. So you are to crawl under the dash to adjust? My old Toyota had the mirror switch there and I hated it.

What I love....
Center Speedo
Toggle Switches center and by mirror
Mini Logo in center for temp
Air Vents
Body Style

I considered the Mazda Touring with the convertible hardtop. But the interior did nothing for me. I wanted different! Same with the little BMW two seater.

Looking and looking at so many cars and they just seemed so plain. Nothing to get excited about.

In the end it is opinion, emotion, or loyalty. Still love the Mini's so much fun.

So we still don't really know what engine is being used at all? Im not liking the sound of the idea of a 3 popper.. if going this route they should go for a 2 banger...maybe then it will sound like a old john deer...chity chity bang bang...

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!! No!!!!!! To me, the center speedometer is THE iconic component of the Mini's interior. How can they do that!!!!???? Was it because some journalists complained the Mini's interior was too "quirky?"
I'll be buying a 2014 and I can't believe they did that to the interior!!!
AAAUUUGGGHHH!!!!!!
