Well here it is, The 2014 F56 pictures and details.
So I'm in the market around November when this comes out. Love the torque upgrades in the new engines, should make the little go kart even more fun to drive. Would drive the 13 and 14 back to back.
Am a little worried about how it will look in person. Will have to see one in white and how the StormCooper look works. Would have to Plastidip any of the chrome parts black...

this may have been pointed out already, but I see that the bolt pattern is now 5 lug, most likely 5x120. I need to find out what the offsets are so I can start shopping for light weight track wheels for it :D
also, is this new 2.0 turbo the same N20 motor as in the 320i?

I'm thinking it will look really good in person,I've also come to learn that with MINI you have to see it in person to really get the car, colors always look different on screen as compared to real life.
Soooo what do we make of this completely undisguised shot from a more normal and level angle?
The headlights are not so bad from this but I still hate the black bumper going through the grill and especially the lower rectangular valance that protrudes from the bottom.
Mechanically the car sounds like its going to be good, especially since it will have a Rev matching system like the 370z which was awesome; its a shame the looks are not there to back it up.

"the entire line of Coopers may move to an all three-cylinder lineup"
Oh cool! I felt like such a kook when I lamented not seeing the Fiat turbo 3 cylinder on US shores. Could be a better direction for the brand than the maxi minis of late.

Nope. Only the Cooper will have it. The S and JCW will have a 2.0 liter 4cyl.
Yes, I have. Gone is the Flash. Yay!
Looks good. I haven't been to the Owner's Lounge, need to check that out. That was the part of the site that got really stagnant.

I don't think I like it that much...
The front bumper makes the grill look like a kid with braces... I don't like the new headlight design, either. However, to be fair, I didn't like the 2nd Gen at first, either.

To me it appears to present MINI DNA - with rocketman features and conformity to new pedestrian safety features.
I like my car (clubman) and therefore I like the current front end styling. Changes are sometimes hard. I don't like the orange-yellow. Yet, the bottom line -- I like it.

As I commented on another thread, it looks like they amped up the cute factor some... It's bearable for me though the more I look at the IMAGES the less I like! Reality will be different.
The interior is my real problem. I HATE that BMW steering wheel and hope it's just temporary. The rest of the lost MINI design cues made my heart sink - this is the side of the car I see the most while driving after all!
I do expect the driving experience to be just fine!
I also hear this mew design is bigger yet than my '12 MCSm - not that I plan to replace Summons ANY time soon, these cars rarely shrink as new models come out, and my little single driveway is already FULL! I really don't want to move if I am forced to go to a '14 or newer...
Yes - it's my neighbours cars who are hanging out on the sidewalk. I came out to run errands and couldn't resist snapping the pic! They usually park on the road - I resist doing so as it costs, and parking in this hood can get compettitve!

[QUOTE="JimW;3823027"]Bigger front end was enviable. That change is the pedestrian safety requirements. Do we actually know how much long the car is suppose to be (I am too lazy to look it up.)[/QUOTE
Yeah, it's much harder to take out pedestrians, now... LOL.

For everyone who said the AISIN 6 speed was good enough...
Looks like you were wrong. Mini was just being cheap when they kept the old 6 speed auto. They're going with a ZF 9-speed in 2015...

I hate hate hate hate, that front end, it's hideous!! However i love the headlights and will be trying to figure out how to retrofit them onto my 09 JCW right away.
