Stripes install. Wet or dry?
Stripes install. Wet or dry?
I picked up some OEM sport stripes for my 2011 ALL4 CMS and I was wondering what is recommended for the install. Searching around no one really says which method is better. I've found a small bit of info saying that I could install using either method. What do you think? Wet or dry? Pros and cons?
Thanks for the help!! Cheers

Wet is more forgiving. You slide it around and get it lined up exactly right. Then you work on removing the bubbles (from the liquid underneath) and get most of them out. The rest of the small bubbles are supposed to evaporate. It takes patience to install.
Dry increases the likelihood that you will damage your stripe when installing. But probably much quicker and easier to install if you get it lined up correctly from the beginning.
I just did a wet install - it took a while but I was patient and took my time. It all looks great.

Joe, thanks for the reply. The OEM stripes have these holes in the paper for the washer dispensers so I can align it fairly well. They also have cutouts for the emblems, aiding in alignment as well. My issue would be when applying them dry is that if I put it down I can't move it....which worries me a little. Thanks again.
