2014 Mini - Dealer revealed the changes to me.
I hope that MINI is just testing the waters with the F56 interior redesign. I have a 2013 on order right now. I was looking for a car that was fun to drive an pushed the envelope on inspiring design. I wouldn't have ordered a 2014 if this is what it looked like inside. Just sayin'.
The main thing that bugs me is the added size, while the R56 is slightly bigger then a R53 the F56 is even bigger and it disgust me that BMW is enlarging this small sports car. I don't like the styling and have no clue how it will drive but please keep small sports cars small.
Has anyone else noticed how large cars are getting? We recently had a newer 3 series BMW in the shop parked next to a early 80's 5 series and the 3 series was bigger! If you don't think that the new MINI is "that much bigger" but unless we the consumer demand otherwise it will continue to grow through every generation and make the 2025 model be as much of a size difference as between the r53 and the classic mini
Look at cars through the years. EVERY car gets larger. Mostly because people want "just a little more". A little more hip-room, a little more legroom, another cupholder, a little more technology, a little more crash protection, and on and on and on.
The early Accords are smaller than the current model Civics! The VW Golf, when it was first introduced, was quite small. Eventually it grew to the point where they introduced the Polo as a small model below it--and the Polo has grown to the point where they are thinking about introducing a small car below that!
I don't see much of a way around it, except to either keep your old car around, or to buy different smaller models once they come out... :(

Part of the increase in size from the R50/R53-R56 had to do with pedestrian impact requirements in Europe. A mandated taller bonnet resulted in a slightly larger car overall to keep everything in balance. Of course, it is also true, that we want everything bigger and better.
They are? got any pics, because every one I've seen shows the windows still on the lower toggle panel.
Nope, they're going to the doors on the f series on account at non customer response. That has been reported in MotoringFile with Gabe several months ago. Another reason I got my roadster this month.
After getting a speeding ticket today because I didn't look at the speedo, maybe putting it in front of the driver isn't a bad idea. But this design is still bad. The policeman showed me the radar gun and my mouth literally dropped...
You know you can set up the current models so that it has a digital read out on the tacho?
Have you programmed the pod above your steering wheel to show you mph? You don't have to use the center positioned speedo. I don't know of anyone using the center speedometer.
