Super Car Sunday

February 24th -- 7 am to 10am

Featured marque: MINI

Location: Westfield Promenade Mall, 6100 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Woodland Hills

SCMM has been invited to be the featured marque at Super Car Sunday on February 24th. Super Car Sunday is like Cars & Coffee. It's organized by Dustin Troyan, our friend who puts on Motor4Toys in December. It's a big car show and they often have a featured marque for the day.

SCMM/MINI will have a reserved parking area.

I am planning a small caravan in the morning to drive up to the show. We will be meeting around 6:15am, location TBD.

If you would like to join this caravan please post so we know to wait for you!

Yeah that would be awesome as long as you or anyone you are traveling with isnt going out of their way! So far I have spoken to two others besides myself that are wanting to attend, but I am sure I could speak with more over the next couple of days!

Is there a way to x-post this to other threads for the Coupe-Roadster-Clubman-Countryman folks to read and be aware in the LA area?

 

Ok I'll have to check with another member. I'm in Glendale so that's the opposite direction but I don't mind.

I'm in to meet up at the art center first.

 

When I look on the website I don't see anything about MINI being a featured marque. Also I see mention its now the first Sunday of every month instead of the last Sunday. Anyone know what he story is?

They confirmed that the 1st Sunday of each month will start in March. You're right about MINIs not showing on the website as the featured cars but SCMM website is saying its a go.

 

Yep, and there's enough of us coming that even if they're not expecting it, they're going to have to make room!

 

Good enough for me. Even if there's no show, i'm more interested in the drive through Topanga Cyn Blvd. It'll be my first run in the MINI, so i might be a bit slow. I'll probably just go last so i don't hold anyone up

MiniBOL - i'm surprised you left your 18" JCW R105's on your 07 when you traded it in. I would've found a cheap set of 16's to slap on and kept the 18's. That's what i plan to do when the time comes to retire my clubbie.

 

Is this meet for SCMM members only?

 

If I'd known better I would've. It was all last minute. I literally only had time to part the car out the weekend prior to surrendering the car. I ended up selling the parts for really cheap. Some of them were practically a give away. I left the wheels, NM springs and the ALTA exhaust on the car.

 

Not just for SCMM members only. There will be lots of other makes and models. Supercar Sunday is just having MINIs as their feature car.

 

That's unfortunate. Good that you were able to get it lemoned. I guess all that's not even a worry now considering you got a brand new JCW Driving that must make you not even miss your old R56

 

It was my first MINI and I did put a lot of time, effort and $$$ in that car. When i decided to lemon it, I kept hoping that MINI would turn around and offer full coverage for fixing her back again. But I'm glad they settled because I would probably be stuck with a non-working MINI once the warranty expired. The wifey asks if I miss the MY and you're right, I don't anymore. LOL

dang ive been always wanted to go to a mini car show well at least where there is alot of minis... but i work sunday n i dont get off till 7am n i would have to drive from ontario...drive i can handle,since i love driving my car so much!!!

 

Myself + 7 will be caravanning from Seal Beach.. I'm trying to get more..

Hey guys,

I've been wrapping up school work this week and I wanted to send a quick update- my friend with his Clubman unfortunately had to cancel on me but I am still go for meeting up at 5:45-6:00am on Sunday and I will have touch up cleaning supplies on hand if anyone catches a bug or a rogue road grime en route.
For those of you that I will be meeting there, my name is Brad and I will be in my '06 Pure Silver Cooper with blackout windows and Art Center stickers on the back. I look forward to meeting you all and talking about your cars until we are Cooper'd out :-D

Rats! Will not be taking ownership of our MINI for another week or so... Who knows, might show up anyway just to see the MINI flood-gates open up! If not this one, hopefully we'll see an invite from y'all for another run. Have fun and safe driving to all!
