Replacing my 2007 Mini Convertible S-soft top

A great day at our local beach yesterday has me super sad today.....
Someone sliced my back driver seam from roof to trunk.... And put a handful of jagged scratches in the area around the seam... (Used a piece of glass)

I can't seem to find a genuine replacement top Anywhere? After hours of searching, threads on soft tops are almost nil.... Any suggestions are so welcome~

Mean people are mean...

Yes.

There are genuine replacement tops:

I take it your have a R52 2007 MINI Convertible S.

What color top did you have?

There is Black , Blue, and Green.

You will also need the fastening kit.

The tops include the integrated rear glass.

Thanks and I hope that helps. Having the top back in working order and a dry interior is a must.

Resurrecting an older thread here.

What did you do for a replacement? Did you DIY or farm it out? What was the cost if you had it done? Finding replacement tops isn't too difficult, but I wonder what kind of job it is to do. I did my Miata twice during my ownership and while the first time was an adventure, the second time was a piece of cake. I don't see a Mini as being as easy as the Miata, if only because the Miata was 100% manual and the Mini is far from it. My top had a few chafe marks and I'm thinking ahead.

Not yet!

Ok I am ready to replace the soft top. The patch job worked but I simply can't look at the frayed slashes. So I have sites and tips for where to buy top from, but nowhere have I been able to locate any "How To" manual, videos or any instructions.... A point in the direction of what I'll need for replacement and how to do it advice would be so appreciated!!

R52. 2007 black bonnet. Ps any suggestions on replacing the front lenses on the headlights? Thank you in advance

I "thought" I had seen someone post about $2K++ for the job including the top. Perhaps a dealership but I can't recall. I had posted a question regarding replacement when I got the car but didn't get any satisfactory answers either. hen it comes time for me I have a local mechanic who has worked on the car that I will ask, but so far I haven't pursued that idea.

Dealership not an option

My husband will do it when I gather all of the necessary information. I live on an island no dealership and not hopeful of the local mechanic under a tree swapping it out :(

Hopeful for an I formed reply

Didn't notice the St Thomas location! I can see that as a problem. How mani Mini Convertibles are on the island anyway??

Ask your husband to do a detailed step by step for the rest of us poor folk who will DYI. I remember doing my first Miata top. It took me a good 8 hours with another pair of hands and a much more available well of information available on miata.net

And good luck.
