Wow that is quite a hit! And the MINI seems to have done more than it was designed to do to save you.
Glad to hear you are ok and are on the mend.
I am also glad you told your story. Driving while tired is probable one of the most ignored problems on the highway but we all have been there. This is an important reminder of the consequences.

Hope all works well for you in the end and that you can return to the MINI community. Let us know how you make out.

Thanks! It was a tough little car and I'm devastated that it's gone. I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to get another MINI. I loved my MINI but I'm not sure that I want to take on the risk of a used MINI nor do I like the F56. Fortunately, I have a few months before I have to purchase another car.

With some careful looking you should be able to find a later model R56 (2011 & later) that will fit your needs. Whatever you decide good luck with it.

I couldn't get a picture because I was driving...

On I-495 West, just on the Virginia side of the American Legion Bridge, a MINI was on fire during rush hour today. It was a hardtop, but I don't know if two door or four door because, well, everything forward from the hatch was a flaming ball of smoldering ruin.

Hope the driver and any passengers were okay.

Thank you! My baby was auctioned off today by my insurance company https://www.iaai.com/Vehicles/Vehicl...oadRecent=True
The auction site has much better pictures of the impressive integrity of the passenger compartment.
