Will I need to reset TPMS when changing to snow tires
Hi All,
I purchased Snow tires on rims when I got my 2007 Mini S from a local mechanic in May.
I am assuming the wheels do not have Tire Pressure Monitors in them and so I am wondering if I am going to get a Warning light when I change them when the snow starts falling?
If I do can I just reset the system?

Resetting the system will do no good. The system still will not get a reading if the TPMS is not in the wheels. You will get a yellow warning light on the speedometer. It's very small and easy to ignore after a few days. This is what happens on my car when I put on my snow tires, as I am to cheap to by four more sensors. You will need to reset the system in the spring when you put your regular wheels back on.
it depends
the TMPS changed mid year on the 07
my 07S uses the old ABS based system - no sensors. You can tell which you have by looking at the valve stems.
If no sensors - yes just do a reset and you are good to go.
If you have sensors, you'll need to buy a set for the winter wheels, or live with the warning light.
