I got my 2013 hatch S a couple weeks ago. I am wondering if I can get the clear bra on now so my car doesn't get all chipped up this winter and then have some custom striping done on top of it later when I figure out exactly what I want. Can that be done?

I've got a clear bra on my 06 JCW cab with aero kit and love it. It's kept the front of the car looking as pristine as posssible. And it's not faded or peeled or anything. 'Came with the car, though, so I can't say what product it is or how much it cost.

And I'd certainly do it again.

 

I'm no expert, so you might talk to an installer (find them on the 3M web site), but I'm sure you can get it on now, but you would not be able to add graphics on top of the bra. You MIGHT be able to add tape striping, but you really want the graphics protected by the bra. Depending on the graphics, you might be able to peel back the bra add the graphics and reapply the bra - don't try this at home!

 

I ended up getting a $450 quote from a guy who's done tints on my last 4 cars. He's great and I will definitely go to him for this.
