So if you drive to a public place and park for a few hours like a movie, ballgame etc. do you remove your magnet badges or are you a trusting soul! I put one on yesterday and then the Mrs. And I went to a movie. I locked up and started to walk off then went back and took it off. No use tempting anyone but this will be a problem I didn't think of when I bought and installed it. Thoughts?

Have over 25 grill badges, have used then on all of my MINIs for years and never removed them when parking in public places.

Unless your are into MINI's, I don't think most folks realize they are magnetic....

If you purchase the newer style enclosed holder and badges from MC2 Magazine, I believe they are somewhat tamper/theft proof.

I have only had mine on the car for a month. I never remove it. As suggested above many people would not know they are magnetic. I doubt anyone would be interested in taking it anyway.

I get a little worried about these taking a walk:

Not due to where I park, but because they are rare and irreplaceable.

Haven't lost one yet. I do take them off when washing the car, per instructions. But they are on there pretty good. Have a "Yes it's fast/ No you can't drive it" vinyl sticker on the window, though, and some idiot removed the "s" from 'fast'. Huh.

Some people surprise me with their immaturity. It'll be a bad day if I catch anyone's hands on my stuff. Short fuse + training + uncanny ability to articulate = you're screwed... And hospitalized.

Sorry that happened to you
