Ground Zero for Minis

I'm here in San Francisco for a few days of vacation, and I have never seen more Minis of all designs as here. There must be at least 5 per city block. Everything from coupes, to Countrymen. I have my kids shouting, "MINI!!!" every 2 seconds. I don't have mine here sadly, but holy cow!!!

Yup, we have a ton of them in the Bay Area. They're a great car for California's "car culture". They're also fairly easy to park in a limited space (if you've had to park on the street anywhere in "The City" you'll understand why that is important) and quite useful as well as fun.

Though I must say that I've seen quite a few of them in most places I have gone in the last year.

When I spent a week in SF I noticed all the Minis too. Along that same vein, there were many Fiat 500s too.

When i first got mine I took a roadtrip from portland to SF (9 1/2 hrs, but thats not the point of my post); they are everywhere down there. The first time I parked i was between three of them; all models, colors, etc...

Ya all the Minis makes it difficult to be unique. There's three on my block alone. That's why I don't wave; I'd get carpel tunnel.

During MTTS I had a chance to talk with someone who works for the ad agency MINI uses. I believe she said the SFO area has the highest percentage of MINI owners than any other city in the US.

Last time there we counted over 40 MINIs in one afternoon. Loved seeing so many motoring around town.
