Every car we buy is going to have something different about it than the previous car we owned. Instead of changing the car I find it easier and cheaper to change my habits. My wife and I now grab the belt before we close the door.

The seat belt holder of choice was the Chevy cobalt.
Very cheap, easy to fit and looks like it was made for the MINI seats.
Black is the color of choice, although I think they come in a off white/beige maybe!
I'm at work now, but can load up a picture when I get home.
I also have a few extras sitting in the garage.

If you don't have a Convertible or a Roadster, check this thread for a free solution: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...seat-belt.html.

I went that route figuring if it didn't work I would toss them and go with the Cobalt versions.

Just rough up the surfaces and clean them before you glue them. Use some fresh thin CA glue and let it dry overnight. I don't think you will have any issue with them coming apart. Good luck!

I believe the seat-belts have power retracts that active in case of a crash. It is designed to remove all the slack out of the seat-belt/shoulder harness. I'm not sure if the modified Seat Belt Holder would interfere with its operation.

Hi everyone,

I purchased my Mini about 3 months ago, and because of this seat belt issue, it's already causing a permanent dent on my door (also scratches) and a indent on my seat. I am hoping to reach out to see if anyone can help me with this problem.

My R56 has the JCW Sports Seats, so even if i tried that POS you guys all mentioned would probably not work as my seat does not have a detachable head rest. Here's a picture of my seats. Please, if anyone can help me resolve this issue?? I love my Mini regardless and I don't want to severe the damage that's already been made.

I don't know why NAM killed the photo that's in the link listed in Message #28 above, but here it is again. This works for both front belts - at high speeds with the windows open, the passenger belt never has moved. (Make sure you remove the cheesy plastic clips!)

I've been doing this for well over a year with no problems.

Thread revival. I'm 6'2" and my seat is lowered as low as it goes, all the way back, with a slightly off straight angle. Reaching for the seat belt is a PITA! It kills me, seriously, I have a torn labrum and have a very hard time reaching for it. Is there anything that would hold that damn belt in a more advantageous location? Literally I've almost moved to a harness just because how hard this has become (during the winter time with all the layers on).

I have a 2010 Clubman S. The sport seat butt pad is starting to be painful for my butt. Does anyone know of a good pad that will fit well in the sport seats?

All right, here is my solution. I stuck a fluffy side of Velcro on the seat belt so it pulls the buckle up all the way. Works great.
