Now I wish I had turned it off on my way home (after the rain stopped and the roads dried lol) because I had some fun with Winston on my way home

With the blue tooth you may need to turn up the volume in the car during a call. Check the tone/volume settings in Purrl, that may be the problem.
Also if you have the armrest you may want to try the iPhone cradle, if it works for you they're expensive but convenient. (No I don't have one, an iPhone either for that matter.) But the cable works great with my iPod!
bluetooth started working the next day for both my wifes iPhone and my Android phone.

My Y-cable problem was user error . My wifes iPhone cover was in the way.

Worked all day, then around 4pm sky fell! It rained SO hard. There was no way I was taking Winston out in that. I thought about poor Viv. Time to get a storage unit for that old boat!

It should still be popping and burbling, even under 4500. Ours does.

Mine is, Winston should be doing it too when the engine is cutting back. When slowing down with the engine or between gears.

Mine burbles and pops the most when at low RPM (between 2 an 3, especially when down shifting).

Perhaps you just need to turn your music down to hear it.

I might have to get Mr. 5.0 to try it. He's more aggressive on a car than I am.

So I finally had to fill up Winston's gas tank and when I did, my gauge said I was getting 38.8 mpg!?!? That sounds outrageous (or have I been driving an SUV for too long). Is that right???

Seems a little high, but depends on whether your driving city versus highway and how you drive.

I am very agressive and without a/c I was getting 31 combined. The a/c has knocked it to 27. But I can't drive here without a/c in the summer.

about to crack 10.5k miles since December 2nd and so far issues have been:

Driver's side heated seat element needed to be replaced...twice

Water pump had to be replaced because of a squeak / squeal that ive seen mentioned several times.

Regrets:

I made the last minute choice to not have the auto AC and really miss it. Had it in my 07 and didnt even realize it was there(good thing) but now that its not, im constantly fussing with the hvac controls.

Outside of those things I love it. I get looks, waves and people asking about it almost everywhere i go. The water pump needing to be replaced so soon certainly has me worried about long term reliability, but I was already thinking of getting the extended warranty anyways...we shall see.

Edit for MPG: I average around 31mpg with a mix of highway / city / backroads driving. Best tank was 468 miles. I love the savings on fuel compared to my STI that got like 17mpg on a good day and a tank of 300 miles was epicly fantastic lol

Oh dear! I do hope you have better luck in the future. I never had any problems with my previous MINI. I love the auto A/C. The A/C is really cold too! I'm sure my mpg will go down once I really start to drive Winston after the break in period is over

That does seem a bit high. I'm driving mostly freeway (55 miles each way to work) and I'm averaging a little over 32 mpg.
