funny thing Dealer told me today about detailing

i picked up my car from the dealer and I also had them "detail" the car. When I went to look at it, there were all the spiderwebbings that were there prior. I pointed this out and the guy told me he could use compound to get out the webs, but it would leave swirl marks

Mind you, these are very fine spiderwebs, you cannot even feel them with your fingernail. I guess a multi step process is not something this guy learned.

I was waiting for them to tell me that a pure Glaze would forever fill any other scratches...

Ugh

You need another detailer.

Uggh I hate dealership "detailers". They have no idea what they are doing. I am assuming your car is a dark color, but it sounds like you have light swirling/spiderwebs. Usually a light cutting polish or swirl free will get rid of it and if done properly will leave no swirlmarks. Definitely look for a professional detailer in your area. They might cost more but they're worth the price.

Idiots!

Bring that MINI to me and I'LL have the paint looking perfect in 8 hours. Will cost you a 6 pack of Guinness and a post in this thread about my skills with a r/o buffer.

There might be a wee bit of road crud after driving 2900+ miles for the detail!

I had a feeling that the something like this might happen, so I didn't have high expections, though it still cost $$.

I've been browsing the site for future detailers...
