Turning off auto lock feature?

Just purchased '05 MCS and would like to turn off the automatic door lock feature. Can I do this myself or does it require dealer intervention?

I turned on auto lock from the turn signal stalk. On my 07 I can scroll through a bunch of options for customization by pushing the button on the end of the stalk. If you have an owner's manual it should tell you how in there, that is where I figured out mine. If you don't have an owner's manual you can find one online.

An 05 requires a trip to the dealer (or someone who has NCS expert maybe). You can only do it yourself on 07s+.

technically true for all GEN2 ... remember that the rag tops changed 'GEN' later . . .

when I last owned a GEN1 the price was $45 for a reprogramming so if you decide to pay, review all the available stuff you can set and change everything at once - the charge was per reprogramming, not per option changed. Check the owner's manual for available options....

Thanks to all for the helpful advice. I will, as Capt BJ suggests, review all possible options and get changes made in one fell swoop.

Even better than stopping the auto lock is to leave that alone and get the car to auto unlock when you stop the engine.

I got the dealer to program both options, no auto lock and auto unlock. I hardly ever had a problem with the locks at that point.

I' thinking there was a third option, but I can't rememeber what that was.
