Stiff Clutch

I am looking at an 07 Mini (actually picking it up today) and the only issue I have is that the clutch pedal is pretty stiff to push. Other Mini's I drove were a little still compared to what I am driving now but this one is a little more stiff than the other Mini's that I drove. It isn't like full force but I noticed it. Anyway to change that without getting into the trans?

Nope. That's the pressure plate. You would have to get in the transmission to change it.

dammit....I am sure that wouldn't be a warranty issue unless it goes bad....does the extended 100k warranty cover the trans?

I would give it a try. Also it could be a few other things inside there.

If you're not happy with the car I would suggest talking to them about it first. No point in buying a car you won't be happy with.

I prefer a stiffer clutch. Makes it feel more tough and feels more like performance clutch. Is the pressure plate broken and that is why it is tough to push or what? My clutch is stock and is a little stiff, but not horrible. I test drove a 2012 and 2013 Cooper S and Countryman and the clutches have been replaced with really soft clutches. Like way to soft clutches, doesn't even feel like it is a manual anymore. I plan on getting a stage 2 clutch, so that I can dump it off the line and not have to worry about it breaking or me destroying the clutch. What's the deal with yours?

I also don't think I would buy a car that I had an issue with, especially with the clutch. this is something you really need to resolve with the dealer before you take delivery.
