Can not figure out panoramic roof

I have had my Mini for about a month now and I still can not figure out my panoramic roof.
Sometimes when I open the roof it stops when both panels are tilted, and other times it keeps going until the front one is open all the way.

The same happens when I am closing the roof from full open, sometimes it stops as both panels are tilted and other times it closes all the way.

I wish I could get it to stop at that half way point every time!!!!

1 full pull back on the toggle will tilt both open. Continue to hold it or after tilting, hold toggle back to open front all of the way (closes rear panel). To close hold toggle forward and the open front will retract and right before it closes both panels title up, keep holding and it will fully close. From factory default all movements need the toggle held except the venting feature which is one-touch (full toggle stroke though)

What is the venting feature?

I have tried a single pull of the switch and I do not get the two panels up if that is what you are talking about.

Uhmm not like that in my car. I use a light touch until I feel resistance and it just tilts both roofs. I can hold my finger there till it is sore and that is all I get. If I want to open the sunroof all the way I just do a full pull back til it opens.

Works both ways like that; If I have sunroof open all the way and want to close to get both front and rear tilted open I just do partial push until light resistance is met and the tops will stop when they get to the both roofs open. Keeping my finger there until it stops of course.

Want them closed all the way I push all the forward.

Thanks for everyone's help, I can not believe there is nothing in the owners manual or service manual or the sunroof operation.

OK, just picked up my MCS on Saturday and was trying to fiddle with the roof. You can't fully open both front and back, can you? The back one only tilts up and down, correct?
