Stripes and Clear Bra
If you have the option, then stripes over bra because as you said it's cheaper to replace stripes, and you can remove them if desired. The argument I've seen against putting the bra over stripes is that it creates a tiny gap where the bra intersects the stripe, and the gap accumulates dirt; however, my car has bra over stripes and I don't have any problem with that so... if you already have stripes and want to add a bra it's not the end of the world. Just be sure to get a quality bra with a guarantee against cracking/discoloring.

Just a reply to Kirby11. He is right. If the bra goes over the stripes, dirt does get filled in the gaps as you can see in my picture. I just bought the car yesterday, but I definitely noticed the dirt. Kind of annoying, and I'd like to fix it. Though I've heard a bra costs quite a bit.

Ew! Sorry to see that, ZehCooper - mine doesn't have nearly that size gap or that much gunk. I guess I'll be extra diligent about keeping the seam clean so it doesn't end up like yours.

OK so some people say put bar on first than the stripes over the top , because you will want to remove & replace the stripes more often then the bar. But how do you take the stripes off with out damaging the bar??
I'm going to go with the bra first, then the stripes over that. This whole discussion has been so very helpful. Just exactly what I look for in a great forum! I wanted to get this done before I started driving my cabrio a lot and heading down to the Dragon. Again, thanks all!
I had my stripes first as they came on the car when I took delivery from the dealer, then I had the bra put over them. But, I had a full hood bra put on so it covers the entire hood and, thus, the stripes as well so no issue with dirt accumulation. Here's a thread I posted about the bra and tint when I had them applied. Lotsa' pics.
