Red Bull MINI...

...at the Special Olympics Polar Plunge today. Creve Coeur Lake, west St. Louis metro, I hadn't seen one of these yet. Definitely eye-catching!

Those are all over the place, in just about every city. That's the first R56 one I've seen though.

Two very attractive young woman pulled up to my mini in one of these while in a beach parking lot on the north shore L.I. and threw me two red bulls, between drooling over the mini and the the other eye candy i was waiting for my girlfriend in the passanger seat to slap me back to reality

Every once and a while one of these models comes up for sale on craigslist in the north east area, had been tempted to look at them lol

I would like to have one of those. Under that tonneau cover is that useable space, like a pickup bed?

There are actually two custom built coolers for the Red Bull they carry around to events. I've seen a few of these up for sale. They usually don't have the big can anymore and are pretty beat.

They are built by this company:

http://www.customcrs.com/rbmini.html

They build them with two coolers in the back- there's no tonneau cover to speak of, just a solid piece with the coolers. You'd have to do some fabricating yourself to make a pickup type bed.

I haven't seen these in "S" form, but that would make a cool (fast) pickup

Watch the R50 ones as they are usually CVTs because they were driven by 18 y/o girls who like to give redbull away and could care less about cars.

I had the same thought as Dr. Fox about the pickup "conversion". It wouldn't take much to continue the body cut down behind the seats and add another 30 percent in length to the "bed" and fab up some short side panel pieces to complete the "Pickup" but I would be sure to use an "S" base if you were going to bother to do it and Yetti96 is right about the young girls driving them thrashing the automatics. It would also be a mandatory "Getrag 6" swap for the transmission if you were going to keep it long term. At best the "project" is only half done when Red Bull is done with them.

I looked at one that was on CL locally. The vinyl was off so it was just silver, and it was pretty beat. The back pickup bed was 2 coolers, not really a pickup at all.

Pretty cool, but not what I wanted at $5k.

Keep in mind that I'm new to the Mini scene but why couldn't you convert one to and "S" using a wrecked donor Mini?

Not usually worth it as far as cost and reliability are concerned.
