Cram the Ferry Rally
Cram the Ferry Rally
Just a few pics of our club's Sunday rally from Ft. Morgan, Alabama to Dauphin Island, Alabama. Had about 28 total and approx. 50 members. Rallied to the ferry landing, 35 min. bay cruise, lunch at the Pelican Reef Rest., a little more rallying and home. Full day of pleasure.
Of course, the coldest day of the winter down here. Only 40 degrees and wind blowing 20-25 mph.

Waiting for it to warm up abit. Need to take the car to a car wash and get the salt water off it. Man, with the wind I think it was like 20 degrees and WET. Fun time all the same.
Looks like you had more than we did. I think alot of people pooped out due to the cold.

Plus, cramming the ferry is lots of fun.
Capt bj had the big ferry boat. They hauled 77 mini's. The one we had only holds about 30.
Weird we had the rallies on the same day, different locations.
Porthos, I see you're in Jacksonville. I remember when I was in the military I was stationed in Omaha, Nebr. but took a couple of TDY assignments to Jacksonville.
Back in 1969 or 1970. Anyway, I remember having a '69 VW with abarth headers, and dual Weber carbs, wide tires and rims with spacers, hurst short throw shifter, really cool in it's day. Anyway, driving on the beach one Sat. and wasn't paying attention to the tide and got caught with my pants down. Flooded the car and ever since that day, it did nothing but rust.
That's that story.
