Good experience with ebay camber reinforcement plates
Good experience with ebay camber reinforcement plates
Hi all,
I've been a major lurker here and want to thank everyone for what they add to the mini community. My car is an 05 jet black s, and my wife has an 06sc.
All the how to's have been wonderful and the list of mods i've done is growing constantly. Funny thing is, every time I do a performance mod, my wife says I have to do the same to her car. Fair enough
We both belong to SCMM, and the Shasta mini club, and love all 'mini people'!
I've had a good experience with donald-the-bonald (an ebay seller) and I wanted to share my experience.
Since both our cars had mushrooming, a solution was needed. I liked the idea of an easy fix with a strut tower bar, but it just didn't seem like it would be as good as a plate underneath. Being that I had to do 2 cars, cost and ease of use were a factor. So, I chose this ebay vendor because of the thickness of his plates as well as the camber they provide (1.3 degrees) for $99 bucks a car. I was really happy to see how easy they were to install, and wow are they strong feeling. So much so that as I tightened them in I could see some of the mushrooming on my cars passenger side strut (the worst of the bunch) get pulled back into shape.
The handling is great, with much less under steer. I have my car lowered on Tein s tech, and although the sellers description states the cars ride height will be raised slightly, I can't tell.
I've hit some really hard potholes since the install, and I feel much better now knowing my towers are protected.
Anyway, I just wanted to share a good experience!
