Grille Badges

"Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!"

or do we?

Question: where does one go to get high quality grille badges? I've done a cursory search online and found some sites but can't tell about the quality.

I can recommend www.gobadges.com. I am not a fan of the magnet badges as they look like they won't survive the first good rain storm.

CooperGraphics (EDIT: CooperFlags) has a good selection and also offers them in sticker form. I can't speak to their quality, as the two stickers and two magnet badges I ordered haven't arrived yet.

Ordered a dual rear license plate badge bracket from AmericanMiniMates, as their bracket centers better than some others.

I plan to put stickers on the bracket, but did order two magnet badges in case I want to put them over the stickers for special events.

Thanks! Question: They refer to "dome badges". What the heck is a dome? Is it just the shape of the badge? I hope these can be affixed with brackets rather than magnetically but I can't tell.

Also, I'm looking for other varieties too. Only a few of these are tickling my fancy.

Ok, I'm dense. www.coopergraphics.com doesn't look right. What's the web site?

I have bought a couple badges from them; what they mean by "dome" is that it is not flat on the side with the image. It is slightly convex giving it the "dome" name, the magnet side is still flat.

Oops, my bad. It's CooperFlags

http://www.cooperflags.com/magbadges.cfm

I have it labeled "Cooper - Graphics" in my favorites (they sell graphic stripes). Will make an edit note on the first post.

Right - the badges themselves are dome shaped as opposed to the standard flat printed badges most places sell. They sell a badge holder that attaches to your grille with velcro straps or wire ties and has a screw-on bezel/surround (the chrome ring) to hold the badge securely in place.

Go with the screw on bezel holder rather than the flat metal ones. Plus the domed and 3D badges all fit and look much nicer. Badges add a little personalization to the Mini.
Initial cost of holder is a little high but lasts forever.

Slightly off topic but, if you order a MINI that comes with a grille badge, what sort of badge holder comes with the car? I have ordered a Hampton edition clubman that, if it ever catches a ride on a boat, will come with the 50th anniversary badge. The badge is ok, but I want to have a variety of badges to swap in and out and I'm trying to figure out what badges will work with the 'stock' holder.

SpicyMaguro.......look at the badges and holders from www.outmotoring.com
The holder with the screw on bezel about $23
The dome style badges $11
The 3D badges about $23
They have a good selection. Don't know what you are actually looking for. I've got one thats the black union jack and one that says R56. I might get one of the yellow ones with the twistie arrow on it later.

Call your dealership, they should be able to tell you the type of holder. I'm not even going to guess as to screw/bezel type of flat.
For a variety of choices check out www.outmotoring.com

I have the outmotoring holder and I haven't lost a magnetic badge yet - they've survived rainstorms and daily freeway speeds. Even the domed gobadges have a strong enough magnet to work with the flat holder.

Cooperflags badges are really nice quality - I highly recommend them.

Does the go badge work on the non-S cooper grille? I heard they are solid backed and you can't pass the strap through?

I am pretty sure that it works with the cooper grill. Check out the website. I think it shows the badge on coopers

About 3 weeks ago I ordered a few badges from http://motoringbadges.com/ and have yet to see anything. I got an order conformation but since then, nothing. I'm thinking the holidays are causing some delay but 3 weeks?!?!

I am getting some GoBadges and their holder is great!

Thanks for all the pointers on the grille badges. Lot's to choose from. I really like the dome badges. Does anyone know if badges are compatible with the holders or do I have to stick with the badges from one company that fit with their holder.

All the magnetic ones are the same size and are compatible except the gobadges 3D ones might not work on the flat badge holders like outmotoring's - I haven't tried it but they might be too heavy and slide down if there's not that ring to hold them in place.

O/T Does Hobbes have the white stripes like the picture in your sig?

I believe all the badges are 3". They are interchangable (flat ones) to any holder, however the domed and 3 D ones should be used only on a holder with the screw bezel.
They would fit circumference wise on the flat holders but they may be a bit too heavy to adhere properly to the flat magnetic holder.

No. Hobbes thought the white tiger stripes looked cool in his avatar but I said no way on his actual body.

If I could persuade Craig to produce a spice orange convertible with the sport stripe, I'd probably use that but this one is cool too.

Have you received your order yet? When was it placed? I'm still waiting on two orders from these guys, and they haven't sent me so much as an email...

[edit:] Received the items from my first order (Nov 30th) this afternoon. Packaging says it shipped on Dec 22 from Texas.

As poster below stated, communication seems to be lacking with this company.

My badges are the flat magnetic ones, not sure how I feel about them, but I'm not going to wait another month to order domed or additional ones from this company. We paid for the fed-ex shipping, but they never sent the tracking info. Still waiting for my roof decal to ship...
