So I just bought my CPO 2011 MINI about 3 weeks ago, and today I noticed the service light flashes at startup. It only stays on for about a second, and then disappears. It only shows up at startup.

I am going to take it into the dealer sometime this week in hopes of it being covered within my drive train or no cost maintenance warranty.

Has anyone else had this? What should I expect? If this has happened, what was the reason? Anyone have enough knowledge to guess what the issue might be?

I think that's just it saying "the system is here and it works." It sounds exactly like what Fenimore does.

 

Your service light? Is there a mileage that shows with it? I haven't reached the point to where I've been at a service point but my '08 MCS will flash that at certain mileage intervals with a mileage number with it to let you know when the next service is due. No need to take it in just yet. Consult the manual. You can see in the manual the secret combination of incredibly frustrating and random clicks and pushs to bright up all the service intervals as well as how many miles till there due.

Aren't all your warning lights coming on for a second at start up?

 

I think? The ABS light and another orange light comes on for a second but that part is normal. I just can't remember if the service light is supposed to blink...perhaps it always has at start up and I just now realized it.ah..

 

Whenever I start mine I see the service icon (but with the car not lifted) and the next date something is due.
