driving light problem, dealer says 300$

Two days ago, my driver side driving light started to change color. It was a little more purple than the usual cold white.

Now since yersterday, the light start for 30 second or few minutes and then it turn off. While the light is on, sometimes it flashes like a bad neon and then it turn off.

I passed by a dealer, can't really tell me what's the problem until they scan the car. They sell the ''glowing element'' 300$ and if I try and it does'nt solve the problem, they don't take it back.

Here are the pics of the difference in color. The third one is the light when it just turn off. There's a little red glow, I think it stop cause it overheats.

Thanks guys

good

bad

looks really bad...

Is this an oem driving light mounted on the grill on your headlight? I don't recognize the light from your pic. I would first try switching the bulb from the left light to the right side of the car to the right side to see if you just need a new bulb. While your swapping the bulb, inspect the bulb connector for dirt, damage or corrosion. Good luck.

Hard to tell because the pictures are so small but the headlight bulb is bad. Sourcing one online will be cheaper than a dealer for sure.

If the headlight joey modded? The 3rd pic looks not like OEM chrome finish.
