Yep, I guess sometimes you see the fault after youve done it. Loads of good comments though. Its kind of like the speed limit sign, nobody pays attention to it. Thanks for everyones input

Any time you put it out there -- you are asking for it! Just be prepared for what comes back -- be it good or negative. Just my 2¢

People hate to be "told" anything ... that they should move over, that they shouldn't tailgate, anything at all. Even if you are right, they'll take offense. There are too many crazies in the world, why make yourself a target??

The way I look at this is when some people drive they are in their own little world.

They never look in the rear view mirror and don't even know someone is behind them.

To avoid getting upset with these type of self centered drivers I just plan to go around them without ever letting them know they we're slowing me down.

Problem taken care of without time and energy wasted. Its a planned pass like in racing.

The problem is those thousands that don't, but always seem to be driving.

+1 for the remarks about the risk of calling attention to yourself. Sadly the individuals that would benefit from your intent are the most likely to react in a stupid fashion to your plea. Ask yourself what is your goal here and will the net effect of this achieve your goal, is there a better way. My personal, overarching objective is to arrive at home each day in non-harmed condition with a funcuntional, dent-free MINI. in a way it's defense vs. offense - you're taking an offensive stance, trying to proactively change the world. Sorry, don't count on it working. Your efforts may be better spent in redoubling your defensive attitude to the motorized sociopaths out there.

Do you really expect this will some how change the way people will drive? We have police for that. To me it's bossy, tacky, and most of all useless... unless you're trying to antagonize people. It's good that you ask others opinions on here at least, because you'll save yourself future headaches if you consider taking it off.

More likely that they'll think "this driver's a spud"... Sorry, the sign's a dud.

There is this guy in San Francisco who drives this beater of a car, can't recall what make it was. But he has a cardboard sign in his rear window and it reads. (I go 55mph to save gas, please to around me) now here, I am driving a 65MPH highway. I was fine with it. not mad at all and he did stay on the slower lane too.

My rear glass used to say "You've Just Been MINI'd"
I always got glares from SUV drivers and I thought it was fun to "MINI" them. The OP's slogan shouldn't make anybody mad, but we all know what kind of world we live in. Somebody will still get mad. My advice, don't worry about it.
