Terrible commercials but the Abarth commercials makes up for the 3 Jlo commercials. We love both our MCS and 500 Sport. Completely different vehicles.

I loved the "Cram it in the Boot" commercial. It was funny and shows MINI doesn't take itself too seriously.

Yeah, but will the Abarth be sold in the US?

Phooey. It was supposed to be here in 11/11, but obviously that didn't quite work out.

Very glad I decided not to wait for the Abarth!

Congrats, mikeyb--what made you decide to do so? You must have taken a heckuva hit on the trade in.

11 trips to the non Fiat dealer that is an hour away. Basically we had to go to Chrysler for service. And we all know how terrible Chrysler is. We didn't take a hit on the trade at all. They gave us full trade in and we had equity in the car. So we made out. The dealer is going to put the Fiat on it's front line to get other Fiat owners in to trade.

The Fiat is a great little car just has terrible dealer and brand support.

To get an idea what we went thru here is a thread on Fiat500owners forum.

Mikeyb74, thanks for the link, the thread makes hair raising reading. You poor thing... I could feel your frustration coming out of the monitor!
What a train wreck.

Here's hoping that MINI is as good an experience as your Fiat was a poor one.

Wow, read the thread. What a nightmare! I don't blame you for bailing, and glad it didn't cost you in the end. Funny that your car will be used as a teaser for other Fiat owners.

It sounds to me like you not only had bad service from your dealer, but the car itself had some issues on delivery that were tied to quality control. That's not encouraging for Chrysler. All cars can have problems, and all cars can have some that slip through when they shouldn't--well, maybe Rolls Royce doesn't?--but that needs to be part of the deal if Fiat is to be successful in the U.S.

I owned a couple of Fiats back in the day. One was used, one was brand new. The new one rusted through in the first year of ownership--never near snow, ice, or salt either. Fix It Again, Tony is right.

I've had a few bugs in my MCS, but far less than expected with an early '07 (week 3 build), and fewer than some of the other cars I've owned over the years. Now over 83,000 miles and happy as a lark.
