I bought a 2011 Mini Cooper S convertible in April of this year...I had the top down a couple days before the weather changed back to cold, windy, and rainy...now the weather is perfect for going topless but I get a lock icon and beeping sound when I put the top down...in park, with foot on brake...any suggestions?

 

Check:

1) movable shelf in the boot - must be fully lowered and pressing on the pressure switch on the left side.
2) latches on each side in the boot - must be fully latched. Open and close them for good measure.
