Sunroof won't open when it's hot
I just bought a 2008 R56 hardtop.
When it's hotter than 80°F or so and the car has been sitting in the sun, the sunroof fails to open. I hit the toggle switch and I can hear the motor whir as normal for 1-2 seconds, a bump, and then it shuts down without opening.
After motoring around, the sunroof will open as expected.
I assume there is some part that expands in the heat and is blocking the front glass from successfully tilting up to slide back.
On cool days the sunroof works fine.
Anyone ever have this problem? Any ideas how to fix it?
