Anyone knows if Midnight Black is real black?

I am getting my Mini after the weekend, ordered it Midnight black with black roof. The one one the lot, just to pick my color, was dusty and dirty so still don't know if this is real black. The sales girl told me it is going to be black but I really don't want a metallic or anthracite dark. So does anyone here have a 2011 Midnight black and could tell me more please?

All it takes is a visit to the MINIUSA Website, click on the " i " in the Midnight Black Body Color viewing window, it gives a description of the color. Hope this helps!!

Sorry to disappoint but it's metallic. However, it is actually black (not like the bluish Astro Black offered in the past) and looks good.

You can see the description on the MINIUSA configurator (as RJKimbell says, click on the "i"). BTW, the quick way to tell is that all the metallic colors cost $500 extra (non-metallic is no charge).

my gf has a metallic black '11 and IMO it looks black to me! i mean it might have a slight shimmer to it but not like a flakey metallic look. it doesnt sparkle. i think it looks great!

P.S. she now has chili red mirror caps too!

midnight black metallic is black. have an 09mcs vert midnight black metallic and park it next to a black volvo xc-90 and there is no difference in shade however the mcs doesn't look as bad dirty as the volvo and when clean the midnight black metallic looks very black and you have to look closely to see the metallic specs of varying colors. don't think there is a non-metallic midnight black but if there is you won't be charged the extra $500 for it.

Thanks everyone! Tomorrow is the big day and I don't think I will turn my back because of the color. I thought today too, there is only one color black offered, there is no black and a metallic black, just midnight black. So black it will be! Don't know if there are different options in U.S. And Canada (I'm from Canada btw)..getting so excited and also a bit sad to return my luxury fully loaded 4 door sedan Ford but I think the Mini will be more fun! Nice car, Superfly, love it!!

When I first checked out my clubman on the lot, I didn't realize it was metallic until I got really close to it. It's really subtle but nice that way.

I dont really like it, i have it on mine and it takes away from the depth of the black. When the sun isnt shinning its black but when it is its the metalic flake really pop.

and it doesnt help with conceling dirt, not one bit here is the link on my 2 day detail on my 2011 and it doesnt get much cleaner then this

My Mini was waiting in the showroom and it was a bit dark, no daylight. I was not excited because it did not look really black. Once they took it out, it was nice and sunny, the Mini looked amazing! Shiny black with chrome, it looks awesome! Yep I signed the paperwork and am super proud. I' ll try to post some pics!
