I am way too OCD about this car, along with many other things in my life but thats a whole other issue

My friends get in and out of my car and lately I will see these tiny scratches on the leather on the passenger seat sucks having friends who also don't care much about their cars (BMWs/Acuras etc) that their parents bought for them. I on the other hand make sure this thing is in great shape and not being mistreated.

In my old car (cloth seats) I had these big towels i'd put on the seats and they were on there for probably 2 years. Is it bad for the leather to put towels on them? I put Lexol on them every week but would also like to throw two towels over the driver and passenger seat.

good or bad idea?

 

I can't tell you whether is bad or not (about the towels); but simply do what I lay down some ground rules or refuse to give them rides in your car. You'll be hated only by those who don't care about you or your possessions....

 

Towels are not going to hurt the leather seats in any way.
If the seats are really an issue, you can get a set of seat covers.

 

I think it's a good idea!

i had a bmw with leather seats and i always kept 2 towels on the back seat, one on the seat and one on the seat back which covered most of the seat back and all of the seat top that gets the most sun.

I was even ocd enough to get BMW embroidered on the towels.

After some time the towels faded badly but the seats were like new even after 12 years.
