Front end paint protection

I'm just curious if anyone has had the front end clear bra protection put on their car. I can't stand the chips in the paint that I know I will get. I read someone else complaining about how fragile the paint is on the MINI. I haven't found that to be true yet, but I'm thinking about putting this shield on.

Nope, no one has used a clear bra.
Sorry, but you can find your answer by reading and searching.
There are a ton of posts about using clear bra, costs, best materials, who to have install.

Short answer is yes, many have a clear bra and other than costs I have seen very little down side.

I have a clear bra on the front of the car. It's been on since I purchased it back in 2007. No chips, or dings. but it does look like it's starting to darken a little bit. Might be time to take of and put a new one on.

I called the dealer today and they said it would be $800 installed with a 2 year guarantee. I thought that was too much money and to little of a guarantee. Has anyone ever put it on themselves? Watching the video, it doesn't look that hard. Yeah, it's probably an illusion.

I have the clear bra on my '06. The only issue was when waxed there is a faint dark line (pepper white).

About 2 years ago I put on the aero front bumper. I decided to not pay to have it put on professionally and did it myself. Was a little difficult with the complex curves but I was able to do it. If you are putting on a stock car with the standard bumper the curves are simpler so the job should be easier.

I am glad I did it cause when I look at my windshield and headlight surrounds I see what it protects against.

I don't know what kind of bra I have on my 05 (58k), but I still have lots of stone chips in front. I'm sure it would be worse without it, but freeway pebbles have found their way into the little gaps in protection.

I'm getting one installed this coming week. Two things.

First, check around the other places in town that do window tinting and vinyl graphics. The dealers farm a lot of these jobs out to these guys anyway, and it'll be way cheaper. I found my guy from a bunch of recommendations on Corvette and Porsche forums where people were driving across the state to get him to do it, and its only going to be in the $550 range for the whole hood, mirrors, and bumper. Just make sure they put on the real 3M paint protector or the XPEL product.

Second, unless you have previous of experience applying large vinyls, I wouldn't try it yourself. It looks easy in a video, but so does playing electric guitar with the right player.

DIYd the bumper and bonnet. If you're patient you can save a bundle by following the instructions.
