Mini Flavors

There seem to be so many different shades and colors of MINI's throughout the years.

I'm a soon-to-be MINI owner who's still not decided on a color. Chili Red is the first thing I fell in love with a few years back and I still love it. Especially with the black roof/mirrors and bonnet stripes. But someone told me red cars fade, and that leaves me a bit wary. Now, I'm sure that depends on the quality of paint. Anyone notice Chili Red's fading?

2008 had a nice shade of dark gray, but the 2011 Eclipse Gray has a tan-tint that I don't like. Horizon Blue looks great also, and a black MINI would still pop with stripes. I don't see many black MINIs on the road- I wonder why.

So many choices!

I'm curious: why did you choose the color you did (and what year is your MINI)? Also, what's your favorite and least favorite MINI color?

I decided to go with the HzB/black top/bonnets. It was a toss up between that or going all blacked out. I opted to go HzB because I just thought it was a sharp color. I couldn't really say I have a least favorite, because every time I think Im not a fan of a color, I see one on the road and thinK "Oh, that looks sharp!" I think for my next MINI I may go all black, but Im sure my mind will change 15 times from now until then.

I bought mine because it was an unusual combo, and I love a white car. There aren't many MINI colors I don't like, though.

The reason I went with Red was this: I wanted one of the shades of blue. My wife wanted yellow. So we compromised with Red.

2010 Cooper s in Dark Silver, which is the dark gray you are talking about before the new brownish gray.

Why I chose it? Because its looks amazing with a black roof and stripes.
Favorite Color? Dark silver is obviously the best.
Least Favorite? The nasty yellow.

I considered all black, but the bits of chrome would have annoyed me more than they do already. Also I really like the two tone look, it gives the car some extra uniqueness.

I went with silver velvet because I tend to like silver/gray cars. I would have been ok with pretty much any shade of gray or dark silver and this is what the dealer had on the showroom floor so I jumped on it.

I like most mini colors that I've seen though.

My wife always wanted a red sports car. Good thing Chili Red with White looks awesome...we love the contrast!

Personally, I like Mellow Yellow w/black the best, but that wasn't a color option in 2010.

Least favorite? Probably Ice Blue...

I went with Laser Blue it was the only 2010 they had left with the right options and the price was right after a few days of haggleing.

I purchased a pre owned MINI. Was looking at two or three color variations and it came down to pepper white with black roof, mirror caps and strips and lightning metallic blue with black roof mirror caps and strips. In the end I went with the blue, lower miles for the same price, which was a steal.

All my favorite colours they've discontinued now. Before we bought the first MINI, I liked Velvet Red or Silk Green, both of which were discontinued before we bought. My very favorite colour is Purple Haze/Black Eyed Purple (depending on which country you're in) which is what we got our 05 in, that was discontinued. After that I like the deep blues they've done, for the 04 it was Indi Blue, for the 07 it was Lightning Blue (which are very similar, only about half a shade different), both of those are discontinued, they don't do a nice blue anymore. For the 08 we got Dark Silver (the dark grey you mention), the wife really likes that, its not bad, but its discontinued now.

If we were going to get another MINI, I don't know what colour we'd get, maybe hot chocolate or spice orange.

Horizon blue or white silver. It was a toss-up for me, but went with the blue.
I think it looks great with the black roof.

Horizon Blue was my first choice because it looks classy. I decided to search for the mini that best matched (options) the one in my mini.com garage. The only color I prob wouldn't accept was the orange. Fate led me to the Horizon Blue and I'm so pleased with it! Can't wait to add some personal touches to it....just don't know where to begin!

The CR was the first color that drew me to the Mini. I fell in love with a Monte Carlo edition I found on a used car lot. By the time I made the decision to buy, it was gone, so I ordered a Lightening blue, and love it. too bad this color is gone. I guess that makes mine a limited ed.

Like a few of you, I may have to go for whatever is available at my local dealership or at the one in Houston where I'm from (then have someone tow it here). I would LOVE to order one, but it takes 6-8 weeks apparently and I need transportation asap.

Hopefully they have some CR or Horizon Blues with black tops and mirrors!

No mention of Sparkling Silver (discontinued)You really have to see it in person. The metalic "sparkle"is brialliant in the sun and reflects different hues, sometimes giving it a platinum color.I've had so many people comment how much they like the color.I'd really wish they would come out with a true white like the Artic white in some of the BMW cars.

I just liked the laser blue when I first saw it. It's kinda flashy.
