Piaa super silicone squeaking...

Hi guys I got my set of Piaa wipers just a little less than 2 months ago and I haven't been able to stop it from squeaking and stuttering. Before I put them on i applied the wipes that were included but they started streaking so I went and got a bottle of no touch autoglass stripper to give the windshield a good clean and applied a fresh coat of rainx instead of the wipes. They now clean streakfree but I get squeaks and stutters here and there which is annoying the crap out of me.

Any input as to how to stop the squeaking would be great, thanks guys

So, the ridiculously high-dollar PIAA stuff doesn't satisfy? Go figure. Get a set of OEM wipers and spend your mod money on better things. Like something that actually helps performance.

Dunno, I have had one set of these for about 5 years and love them and never had the stutter squeeky problem. They last forever which has been well worth the money.

Is it possible that they are not installed correctly and they do not flip back and forth as they traverse the window?

I love my PIAAs and frankly I have tried every wiper out there. I use the 19" Sporzas with the wing on both sides of the car. It also makes it easier keeping only 19" refills around but frankly they never seem to wear out. The wing gets installed on the bottom of the blade if I remember correctly.

Hmm..It seems like they are not going "back and forth" as it seems like its more perpendicular to the windshield as I see vertical "streaks" when it wipes.

How would it be installed correctly? Thought they just clip on? Excuse my newbieness =]

Try swapping the left with the right side and see if that doesn't work.

Then spray water from the garden hose to test them out.

The blades need to be free in the tracks. They should not be stiff and should be able to sort of flop when the blade changes direction. And if you have a spoiler that needs to be on the down side.

Like I said my PIAAs are the best I have ever used. And I have used them all.

Rich

PS-Newbleness is never a problem unless it comes with really stupid (or really arrogant) which this did not even approach.

Did they streak immediately or after 2 months? Did you run them dry for 5 minutes after installing?

PIAA recommends not using Rainx but running the wipers dry for 5 minutes to coat the windshield in silicon (or whatever they have imbedded in their blades).
