Free oil change

My MINI dealer performed my last free oil change one month before the 12 month interval because my free maint. expires in one week. This was very unexpected.

Mini of Charleston? Sitting in their waiting room right now for mine's annual service. Good people!

It's a shame that the dealer experience varies so widely - I've been very complimentary and positive about my local dealer, I think they go out of their way to take care of their MINI owners, just as yours did. Well done, MINI of Charleston!

Well I hate to burst your bubble but when my wife drove to Mini of Charleston in October (12 months) they said no free oil change. Not only did we have to pay for it they would not give us a loaner car that we had reserved. Bought the car there new in Oct 09.

My "bubble" is still fully inflated.

How many miles had she driven in those first 12 months? At one point, the policy was changed such that it must be 12 months and less than 6,000 miles before they'll do a free oil change.

But I think BMW caught too much flak over it and changed the policy back sometime around October of last year.

Mini would not do my last oil change because I had low mileage on car and Mini would only do it the day after my 3 year plan expired and I would have to pay for it. BMW did it but it took 5 phone calls to get it done even though I bought it new and paid list for it at their Mini/BMW dealership. It is very hard for me to speak well of them now.

That would be great if they did change the policy back. Does anyone have any info?

My understanding is the same. They reversed the policy only a few weeks after implementing it.

my dealer blows

I will never go back to Global Imports of Atlanta. They held some info on my preowned 06 cooper that ticked me off and then didnt do the full service inspection (because i found the issues). 8 weeks and still waiting on my tag. They said the service group forgot the emissions inspection,... and what else.
The sales guy spoke to me like i was a McDonalds customer. just not at all impressed and wish i had contact info for the sales department at Mini/BMW that they answer too.
GRRR.
