Some work in progress pics:
No more bonnet stripes. They come off very easily when you heat them up with a heat gun even with the clear bra on under the stripes.

Getting there. So far the stripes are on the bonnet, beltline was done and grill surrounds done. Need to put the MINI emblem back on and run the stripes down the bumpers. Then on Monday finish up with stripes on the boot and tint the taillights and all the reflectors.

It was difficult to watch Lyle work on everyone's car and then have him finish up the installs with my car on Sunday afternoon and Monday morning. I will post a full write up when he is done with my car. But in the mean time it was nice meeting everyone over the past few days. Sorry about the rain on Saturday. At least I have a garage. And a big shout out to Less who drove up from Philly and brought a whole bag of Philly pretzels!!

Steve, looks amazing! I'm so glad you put this together. Thank you so much for everything yesterday. It was great to meet you!
BTW, did the removal of the stripes compromise the clear bra at all? Any adhesive you can't get off or thinning of the clear bra? Breaks in it? Just curious because someone told me if I pull the stripes off the clear bra I'll ruin it.

You are very welcome. Nice to meet you as well. The stripes came off nice and easy. No residue left behind the Xpel film did not lift up or break. The old bonnet stripes were expertly removed by master Lyle.
Cross posting from another thread...
Lyle and his wife Shannon are on their way back to the San Francisco bay area. I dropped them off at Newark airport this afternoon. I had never met Lyle before, only spoken with him on the phone and traded many emails. So I did not know what I was getting myself into with regard to letting 2 strangers stay at my home for 4 days including picking them up and dropping them off at the airport and lending them my spare car. They are really and truely super people. They are a cute couple and were fabulous house guests. If you are reading this sometime in the future... do not hesitate to have them stay at your place while doing a vinyl wrap weekend. I really enjoyed having them over at my house and I definitly consider the both of them my new friends. I work for Cisco and travel to San Francisco from time to time. I will be looking them up next time I am out there.
Blackout complete. Will post pics soon. I need to get a good look at the car out in the sun but it looks awesome so far. I am thrilled.
A big
for Lyle and Shannon. Thanks you both!!!

Had a great time meeting everyone, the drive up was beautiful but that drive back..... all I can say is I made it in one piece. Lyle and Shannon are super people, Lyle is such a professional he enjoys his work and takes pride in doing it. I can't wait until he gets the headlight rings for my R60. Fish you get a big THANK YOU for putting this thing together and letting total strangers envade your house.

Looks good Steve!!
I'm a little bummed I missed this, I would have made a weekend trip out of it if I had seen this thread earlier. I've wanted to get my door handles, beltline, and scuttles done for the longest time.
Did he wrap the blue you can see your scoop? That would look good black just so you can't see it. I would have thought m7 would have covered that up with their scoop.

It was nice meeting you too. Thanks for bringing up the pretzels. That was an unexpected treat. Hopefully Lyle will get you taken car of real soon. Hope to bump into you again one of these days at a meet or run.

As for the scoop... that is M7 for you. They SHOULD have come up with a solution for that big hole in the middle of the scoop. I do not see it much as I'm pretty tall but a short person would easily notice it.
I took my scoop grille out a few weeks ago when I got my ALTA intake and I immediately had to dremel it out and put it back in because of how bad I thought it looked totally open.
I hope all M7's parts aren't like that! I'm planning on ordering their j-brace on Friday!

Not sure yet if I'm in love with the lower orange grille surround... I will post up some night pics later as well.
Blacked out/CF pretty much everything except the door handles.

Lyle did an excellent job. Thanks again Steve for organizing the event and Lyle and his wife for Eurotrip tips and great work

My mods are done

I am having my car detailed by Phil Yiu of Detailer's Domain in Norwood, NJ on Tuesday but I wanted to take some pics (like 27 pictures). It was a bit cloudy and my car is a little dirty but what the heck. They are all up on Flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/onefish...7610864637624/ at the end. The pics are in chronological order.
The following were blacked out using satin black vinyl.
Head light rings, Tail light rings, JCW grill surround, gas cap, belt line, JCW side scuttles, stripes on the front bumper and bonnet going back to the boot and rear bumper.
Lyle also put his panic button sticker on the glove box release.
The following have been tinted - tail lights, rear fog lights, reflectors in all 4 wheel arches and the side markers in the scuttles.
Other things to note: M7 C-Wing in CF. M7 Vortex II hood scoop in CF. The door handles and front/rear MINI logos are from Aesthetic Creations. The skull and crossbones is a domed sticker from them as well.
Edit - Magnetic grill badge is the Defenders of Speed "bandit" logo. It was sent along with their intake when I ordered it back in the spring of 2010.
Here are a few pics:

Thanks for the compliments. The grill badge is the Defenders of Speed bandit logo. I have their intake installed. They sent that along with the intake as a gift.
