>>any one can go fast on the streets with a modded car. on the MINI,
>>it is fun outdriving those modded cars in factory form. well, atleast
>>that's how i enjoy the MCS.

Kenchan, I agree with you 100%. I let him drive my car one day and he really liked it! He especially liked the way the trans "guides you" from second to third gears. I enjoy the MCS the same way you do!

The Bulldog likes the Bone (stock). The way I see it, the re-design of the MINI by the BMW engineers had to be a "labor of love" and why mess with a good thing??

Bone stock cuts me out even with just tints, "hot pocket" and glove box organizer. Oh yeah, the small Union Jack on the rear window,

This could be "Bone Stock" club may be hard to stay in!

Regards,
Red

Well I'm still bone stock. But my little Tonka Toy's not yet out of break-in, so I haven't begun to push her. I'd love to pop for the JCW package but not at $6K (or more) installed here iin LA. With all the previious repair/warranty issues that have surfaced on the MINI, I'd be very wary about doing anything to jeopardize the factory warranty. However, I am waiting for spring to see what exactly Dinan plans to offer and how much it's going to cost. My local service dealer, MINI of Universal City, is also a BMW Dinan dealer and intends to offer Dinan for MINI when available. As the Dinan warranty parellels the BMW warranty, it's a much safer bet for my taste. But I would like to get a console organizer and a clove box organizer. Anyone have any preference on either?

I'm mostly stock. I changed out the run flat tyres at 1100 miles for non run flats. Best move I could of done. The handbrake boot and handle were also changed for the leather versions.

All the warning stickers for the air bags and the sticker on the windscreen about using outside sourced electronic equipment are still in place. And will most likely stay there.

I have it stock so far. BRG MCS. 16" wheels. But I added black bonnet stripes and a checkerboard roof. Lots of "you 'been playin' checkers?" comments down here in the South.

Got a friend who got a red MCS smitten with a sunroof. Very nice Cooper. I made the mistake of telling her that my car was faster cause her sun roof adds some 60 lbs.

Her reply: "*****, I weigh at least 80 lbs less than your sunroof-less ***. I'll still smoke you."

What could I say? She got me there.

But I think I'll get ver 36 for the ECU, see what happens and just keep her stock. 16 tickets in my sordid driving career makes me a little nervous. I don't need any extra encouragement. Man, I got plenty o' power for me even if I do get beat off the line by skinny little MCS driving girls. I think the best mod for my fat *** is probably to drop about 20 and go to driving school.

Rock on.

My Cooper S is pretty much bone stock performace wise. I blew a ton of money on the car in the first place so no performance upgrades. Besides, you have the warranty thing to worry about.

But I have a few official MINI accessories like the glovebox organizer, cargo net and so on. But I wouldn't consider these as modifications. The only non-MINI items I have on the car is the clear bra and a pair of strut tower reinforcing plates.

Maybe in the future when I need new rotors and pads, I might spring for the JCW brake kit. Or maybe the JCW airbox. But as of now I'm happy for my car as is.

Let's see, the glove box organizer, Cooper valve stem caps, and some window decals. Pretty stock. But then, I ordered nearly every option available, except the GPS because I don't care where I'm going as long as I'm going.

As you can see from my SIG. I am stock also, I had my magnets that came with the car redone in vinyl simply because magnets do not hold so well on the highway doing "the speed limit"

Other than that, she is exactly the way I picked her up from the dealer!

Still mostly stock.

I picked up a glovebox organizer at AMVIV3, easy-for-me type of mod. Fog brake light conversion was done before I took over the wheel. I modified the boot badge:
When it's paid off... look out.

I'm assuming the sport package doesn't count against me... count the Velvet Red Beauty in!

Bone stock performance wise here.. Do interior add-ons really count against me? I've got - Euro shelf/glovebox organizer/cubbys/seat pulls/a suction cup (phone holder)/tint.
If those don't 'count', then count me in... :P

Thanks for starting this thread. I was beginning to think I was the only person completely satisfied with my Mini Cooper the way it was born. Of course, in this world of surgically enhanced bosoms and the like that's not a common view!

Nugget is stock except for the gold colored metallic flake dog paw prints added out of love for our five goldens. Oh, and I replaced the stock runflats with Goodyear Eagles when two were damaged by road debris. Of course up here in rural Vermont a stock Mini is still a thing of rare beauty.

Yes, keep it original!

I ordered my 2006 new with an aerodynamic front end, BBS R90 rims, bonnet stripes, checkered mirror covers and JCW intake, all factory parts. Keeler MINI installed these, technically this is the way it was delived to me stock . The only items I've added are the rear side stone guards and the MINI CD holder for the visor.

Boondox, where in rural Vermont are you located, we've started something totally informal for fun >> Vermont MINI Club

I'm a mod hog. After 1600 miles in my new 06, I really really feel the urge to modify...must...resist...bought...new...wheels...o n...no...it's...starting...

I came from a highly modified Porsche 944 turbo (400+hp) and I really don't miss it. I love the MINI and can't wait to go even further with it.

UJ mirror caps, chrome grille, white bonnet stripes, and it's only starting to look right!

Great, welcome to NAM! Don't mod it yet, just learn to drive it first.

I moved over from an early 1985 944.1 that I modded up and don't miss it a bit either! I had the 944 spec'ed to total Club Sport. No turbo, but the usuals: AIR 951 front end, AIR lip spoiler, 951 rear valance, side skirts, M404, M220, 7&8 Fuchs, Club Sport steering wheel and air box. Fun, but not nearly as entertaining as my stock MINI Cooper S.
