I think it's cool to wave at other MINI drivers, but Google the Jeep wave.

On average I probably get a 25% return wave. Saw three yesterday in passing and no wave or even eye contact. But I will not stop!! Every time I start to get discouraged, there is a MTTS, MOTD, or some event to get me back pumped about MINI again!

Got a wave on the way home from work. On the upside I have a 100% return on the day.

I got a wave back from a handsome Clubby S on the way home last night. It was encouraging. I'm going to keep fighting the good fight - er, I mean waving the good wave.

I actually got my first wave back today, in DFW, north on 75 by Campbell. Lady waved back and grinned, in a blue cooper.

I wave, and if they stare at me and don't wave, I make sure to give them the finger. I think its pretty obvious why I'm waving, and doesn't take much effort to wave back. It also takes very little effort for me to turn my hand around and tuck my fingers in.

ive gotten a few waves a few honks and a few light flashes. its great when you get em! i was driving some twisties in upstate NY the ohter day when another mini came aroudn the corner with a a passenger. all 3 of waved and smiled.

theres a few mini enthusiasts around my area but i have yet to meet or find them. theres 2 BRG mini with white tops just like mine its funny, one night i parked rite next to one and on my way back another mini parked next to me. it was funny tho cuz there was all of 50 spots open but we all parked next to each other

This afternoon, returning to work after lunch, I stopped at a traffic light. A dark blue Clubman with black and white racing stripes pulled up behind me. I waved and all the woman did was give me a blank stare. The next red traffic light made up for it. Stopped at the red light, two young ladies in the car next to me made quite a commotion and yelled that they liked my car...er...truck. I smiled, waved, and said thank you. I'm sure they were thinking "what's an old grey haired guy driving a cool car like that?"

It's a former Red Bull MINI. I removed the can mounts and coolers and fiberglassed the rear cover and roof. Makes for a nice two seater with a decent sized trunk.

This is what I started with...

This is where it's at right now. Still missing a few trim pieces (on order) and the LED third brakelight above the rear window...

waves

If I'm in a good mood, I will wave to other MINIs also, but I have never received a wave back! Then again, they might be waving back but perhaps I just don't see it because our cars pass eachother too quickly. I will try my iPhone app to see how the automatic waves work. I have had the app for a while but never tried it. I think other iPhone users need to have the app turned on at the same time for the app to work, and I bet there is little chance of that happening.

I thought about giving up on the wave but that's not helping anything. I will wave at any MINI that goes by. If they don't wave back then it just means they are grumpy, non fun having, non motoring enthusiasts and it's no skin off my teeth. Besides that one wave back makes up for it.

I always wave. If they wave back great. If they don't, I still gave them a chance. Maybe they'll catch on to how much fun waving can be. After all it's part of owning a MINI.

+1 I went 2 for 2 yesterday heading out for lunch, and it made the rest of my day all the better.

I'll admit I'm a little bummed if I don't get a wave back. I chalk it up to either 1) lack of attention or 2) not a *true* MINI owner into motoring, just someone that stumbled into the brand, but isn't really into the brand & culture.
