Finally stretched her legs
Finally stretched her legs
I have had my MCS now for a few months. I followed the break-in procedure so I was careful no to over do the trips above 4.5K rpm when I got her (but I did every now and then). I then drove straight to Seattle from LA which completed her break in, unfortunately, I had no idea, that the speed limits, local drivers, and the constabulary would take away any chance I would have at stretching the little coopers legs. I was there for a painful six weeks and couldn't wait to get home. Fast forward to today. All I can say is WOW! I have read complaints about the stock setup on these cars, however, I would say it may have to do with driving style and approach. These cars, even with stock suspension and tires are truly amazing. I traveled some canyon roads where I surpassed the yellow warning sign by an easy 30 mph (just the warning sign, not the speed limit), and that was under 90%. Though I have the sport package, I am sure I don't have the sport suspension, even in this state, it is fantastic. The only thing I wonder if I might still have the shipping blocks in, which wouldn't bother me too much, because ages ago, I raced shifter karts with no suspension and cars with seriously stiff springs. One of these days I'll take a look, but for now, I am truly enjoying the heck out of my MCS.
P.S. Not a crazy fanboy, my hoodscoop is starting to deform, I am concerned about the clutch and I did hear the death rattle a couple times in Seattle. Until it cools off here enough, I'll have to wait.
