Having 2nd thoughts

I drove a 3rd MCS today and of course, I loved it. Beautiful 2007 with 32,000 miles. Practically flawless in almost every way. If there was anything wrong with it, it was that it was an automatic which I would have settled for. However, for the 1st time today, I installed my daughters car seat in it. It's a Britax made for smaller back seats. It fit perfect. Bummer thing is my 19 month old who is already 34 inches tall looks a wee bit cramped. I could put her on the passenger side and she would have more room unless my 13 yo was is in the car then she would have to remove her legs in order to sit behind me. I'm so down in the dumps right now. Thought I would be driving home in a Mini tonight. This would be a second car for us but almost everytime we go out in my truck, I have my family with me. I almost never drive alone. Just don't think it will work. Somebody tell me I'm wrong and come up with a solution for me and I will go back tomorrow and start the wheel and deal process.
Regards,

Chaney

Clubmna for you or wait till this fall and look at the Countryman. Plus MINI of Hawaii is awesome. I did a lot of business with them before I left. Haole boy had to go to the Mainland. Good luck and where are you looking at that 07?

I'd suggest checking out a Clubman as well (although I am not personally a fan of those).

I'm not real keen on the Clubman. Porthos, I was looking at the 07 just down the road from Mini of Hawaii at Audi of Hawaii's satellite dealer located in the parking lot next to Mercedes Benz. (Corner of Ward and Kapiolani) I may wait for the Countryman, by then I may be able to afford something new who knows. I'm looking into a few other cars I like. There were a few used A4's, A3's and even a V8S4 wagon. I'll check out VW GTI's as well. Still trying to justify a Mini as it is my #1 choice. I really liked the Blue one I drove last night and my wife liked it too which is even better. I just feel my baby girl was too cramped and it would only be worse as she grows.

Bummer, but, yeah the coopers really aren't family cars. I am about to turn 50 and the main reason I am considering a mini is that my only daughter has graduated college and on her own now (Yay!). So it will be just me and the Mrs. and most of my driving is the daily drive to/from work anyway. Since you are not keen on the clubman you might give the countryman a serious look...the 2011s are reportedly getting better fuel economy. nudge, nudge.

I'm really laboring hard over this now. Just had a guy who is selling a 2006 with only 10900 miles on it offer to work a trade with me on my truck. Just my luck! I decide a Mini isn't right for me and the deal of the century is right under my nose. Talk about pouring salt on the wounds.

We just got a Clubbie, 'cos the wife was sick and tired of being practical (and I think she was just a little jealous of me and my MINI). I'll tell ya, hers is an auto and it's still about as much fun as my MCS.

The Countryman should be out later this year, but I'd prefer to wait a couple of years for them to shake the new-model kinks out (not to mention the fact that my S is only 8 months old ...). Pick yourself up a slightly used Clubbie for now, then trade it on a Countryman in a couple of years!!

What don't you like about the Clubman? If you want a MINI, it sounds like the best option for your needs. I love mine.

Whatever you decide...good luck!
