how do you get through waiting??

Ok -- i told myself that this year i would finally get my mini...

there is a used 2007 (i think its a 2007) pepper white s at a car dealership by my house and i figured that would be great to get -- but then i saw the 2011 orange one coming out and i fell in love....(its so bad i have already designed it and named her)...

so do i wait? i mean it would be better to wait, right? but boy its hard --

how did you all get through waiting to purchase your mini?? I need some help !

Waiting 3-4 months for a new car, with a guaranteed 3 years not having to even touch the wipers. And then another few years of guaranteed mechanical soundness. Sounds Easy typing it, but i know it's hard. Spice Orange is a great color, I think you'll be very happy with it.

agarwaen -- do you think so?? I mean in the pictures it looks like its a nice orange --not too pumpkiny....not to reddish...it just looks like a nice fall orange...

so when i go to the dealer to get one...do you bargan? or do you just buy?

and now i have someone telling me that i shouldnt get a 2011 because it will have problems and should buy used... ????

Wait on the 2011! I loved the previous hot orange but this new hue is even better.

No reason why the 2011 should have problems, there is no reason to buy used unless thats what you want, and going to a MINI dealer is not like a visit to your local Ford store, no white shoes and loud plaid coat. Negotiations will be limited, if you get a $1000 off you did good.

The waiting is possible, Grasshopper, but it is not easy. If you can go for what you want (the 2011), 'youifying' your own MINI is well worth the wait, though it's not easy.

On the bright side, you've already found this hangout; I spent a lot of time on here while waiting for mine to be built / arrive. It's good therapy and will no doubt make you a better person!

The 011 should be a safe purchase. It`s more of a revision of the current R56 model line up. Just like 05 was a revision of the older R50/R53 line up. I think the 012 will be more of an all new car.

Thanks for the condolences Peep and for reading about the real Ted. She was a great friend and I absolutely loved having her tool around in the MINI with us! I do understand and sympathize on your loss too--it seems the hurt never goes completely away, but I can smile at some fond memories now.

Enough about me! Congratulations to you! I hope life keeps on chugging for you and your plans. Have a fantastic wedding and keep us posted on your MINI adventures, real or imagined!

Motor on, my friend!

Now, I can't wait to see this Orange! I always say that people truly know what they want in their hearts, and if the Spice Orange is what you really want, then there's time to wait. However until then, I thought I would add: Lots of #2 pencils, I chewed through a couple! Also, I tried to take up a new hobby just so I wouldn't think about it. The thinking is maddening! Good luck, keep dreaming about that day and I hope to see pics up within the next several months

Sunny - i already have her named !!!! i always thought i wanted a blue one (almost got a 05electric blue -- ) but lately -- orange has come over me (as long as its a nice orange)

so if this is a nice fall color orange...then im so there -- if not...well...i think i will either get blue or gray...

i gotta ask -- what hobby did you take up? i might need one !!
