Possible new MINI...
Possible new MINI...
Okay, so on the way back from getting some gas tonight I stopped at a local small dealership to check out an Indi Blue MCS just for haha's. It ended up being an '03 with only 47,xxx on the odometer...and the best part, for $12,900. (pics below)
So here's the deal, I have a 2005 PW MC with JUST under 60k. I just upgraded the exhaust, aftermarket wheels, factory tint, and had bearings and serpentine belt replaced within the past year.
Being a soon to be teacher this coming fall right out of college (aka no money at the moment
) do you think I could possibly make a good trade/worth while?
Sorry about starting this thread, just MINIs tend to excite me
* Also, I don't know why the picture is upside-down, so all apologies *

WOW! That MINI's hanging upside-down...catch it!
Sharp looking car.
I'm not sure what the market is like in your area but it sounds like you could come very close to break-even. Your justa is a little newer, sounds like it's been well-maintained and from your sig-pic it looks sharp as hell. Check the value on www.kbb.com and then search www.craigslist.org autos section to see what people are asking in your area...e-bay is an option but can be expensive and lots of scams.
If there is a Carmax in your area they actually gave me a really good price on a super-duty pick-up that I was no longer using. Just go in, take all your paperwork, they'll give you an offer and you have 7 days to decide if you want to take it.
Good Luck & keep us posted!!!

Okay so I stopped by today with my own cooper (trying to intimidate them
) and he said that he doesn't have a lot of experience with MINIs and he would have to do his homework. He asked me what I thought and I told him that I feel with mine being 2 years newer it was pretty comparable. He kept saying "...but yours is not an S." psh.
He didn't want to guess and throw out some numbers but said that if I come back in a few days he could make me an 'attractive offer' With your expert opinions, what do you think would be a good deal for me?
Thanks a bunch!

The best amunition is knowledge. Go in there with a list of everything that your car has...and the Kelly Blue Book value as equiped...and then educate him on what the "S" has on it and that Kelly Blue Book...and see how far off you are. I would be interested to see what you come out with...go ahead and take the "Trade", "Private Party", and "Dealer" values in for "Excellent", "Good", and "Fair" condition of vehicle. Go get 'em and may the best Cooper end up in your driveway!
Does anyone know if any 2003 coopers have the built in digital speedometer in the tach behind the steering wheel? I honestly don't know if I could live without that now that I'm so used to it! Older posts indicate only 2004+ models have that but I want to be sure that's true
sorry.. :[ us 2003's don't have that. it displays, outside temp, average speed, average mpg, and mpg range.
