General MINI TalkShared experiences, motoring minutes, and other general MINI-related discussion that applies to all MINIs, regardless of model, year or trim.
(...you see a bunch of construction cones on the road and find yourself mentally calculating the best line to run a slalom through them, you might be a MINI owner.)
When you get outta the car after 4 1/2 hours of driving, and wish you could still be driving!! Bummed out that the drive is over and Im home for the night! Love this car!
So im not insane??!! or are you insane too John lol was in north conway NH with the family. Had to drive up separately (ahem cough cough) cuz I had to come home tonite for work. Took the looooooong way home which included driving the Kancamangus Highway. AWESOME!! Twisty turney face-busting smiley fun!! Almost no one on it Did I tell you it was AWESOME??!! lol Im whipped, but found myself still wanting to drive.....I have a problem I think......
Only time I get sick of driving this car is when the road is long, flat and straight, and then I'm just wishing the road would turn into some twisties so I could have some fun!
... you have your 9 & 10 year old trying to convince your wife that they would get some quality time with dad by motoring 200 miles one way to meet up with some other MINIS for burgers and ice cream. In another state.

... people in the grocery store parking lot stop and stare in amazement as you load 12 shopping bags, and yourself ( I'm 6' 2", 200#) into your Mini & drive off!
...when ever you put something into your car you fasten it down regardless of length/distance to be travelled.
+1 on the thread revival, had not seen this one, and it could get lively. I'll review prior posts in a while.
and,
+1 on the "fastening things down" aspect. *Yes*, I'm now conscious of items in the car, and ensuring I have them "stowed" properly in the (now likely) event that a freeway entrance/exit cloverleaf will be too tempting not to strafe.
You know you drive a MINI when you just spent half your day reading this thread so that you can go home and prove to your wife that it is not just you that do crazy things.
Also Me and my friends have started the MINI game. Its like punch bug but with MINIs instead, this one my daughter plays along. She hates Punch bug now.
And I've got to say I am guilty of getting off at some exits because I know the next entrance ramp is sweet.

Learned my lesson Monday. I had a bin of mixed recyclables in the boot, (forgetting that) I said to myself "that looks like curve I can have some fun with" and the bin with contents went clattering and crashing up against the rear window.

That's awesome. One of the first pieces of advice I got about driving the Dragon in May was, "Tie EVERYTHING down!".
