Finally cleaned off the insect massacre from the drive home from MITM. Ick!

Also took off the roof box and roof rack. After 3K miles of driving with the roof box it'll be nice to see the gas mileage get back to normal.

I just finished installing a RACING DYNAMICS carbon fiber rear strut bar on Tackleberry.

 

Just finished tinting at C3M mod party in MD.

 

Yesterday....MINI Shop foreman installed:

New NAPA 060532 belt
New Face lift Crank Pulley ( 3rd one - didn't fail but has ton mileage on it )
New Chain Tensioner ( Also didn't fail but had ton mileage on it )

Boost spools up so much quicker with really nice super smooooooth "torque" band. .

 

Yes but it will be running great again soon!

 

Going to pick up new blower in the morning, rest of parts from ecs should be here Monday... Monday night is me and her... until she runs again!

Took the antenna, base and all, off my mini this morning. Had to take off nearly every trim panel in the back of my mini to do it right but didn't end up with any creases so it was time well spent (around 2 hours all told). While they were off I removed both rear seat belts (does anyone know of a cool way to fill those holes?). Lastly did a pro patch job to the hole my antenna left. Beer bottle cap + hot-melt + black duct tape = good enough for now.

 

Prepped the "new" low mile SC to go in next weekend. The oil I drained out was very clean and probably could have stayed had I known. But I filled both ends up with brand new GM SC oil and put the 15% pulley on. Cannot waaaait to install this.

 

Taught my daughter how to loosen and tighten the lug bolts in a criss-cross pattern when rotating the tires because she insisted on helping me. I figured she might as well get comfortable using tools so she doesn't depend on a guy to do it for her when she gets older. lol.

ive been meaning to make it to one, but ive been lazy about finally buying a crash helmet and actually making it to an event.....

And why did you remove the antenna and attempt to fill it in with beer bottle cap? How would you have gotten creases? What was the goal?

 

Maybe because the antenna looks dumb, and he didnt want to take it to the body shop and pay $$$$ to have the hole filled and roof repainted...

 

Yeah, the duct tape looks much better.

 

Tell me .....the cap from what brand of beer looks the best under duct tape and hot melt? I wanna make sure that we all get it right.

 

Learned that a $30 pulley tensioner stop is a worthwhile investment..........

Na the duct tape looks just as bad... But if you vinyl wrap the roof it blends in pretty good without the welding and body work.
